Caulfield Grammar

Caulfield Grammar School

Due to a fire in early November 2000 at the Caulfield Campus, the School’s original Memorial Hall was decimated.  The $13m Cripps Centre - The extensive new building houses the likes of a 650-seat theatre with auditorium, enclosed outdoor area, a quadrangle, the School’s Heritage Centre, art gallery, arts centre (with four main studios) drama studio and the school’s archive and storage facilities. A similar $11m facility was also constructed at the Wheelers Hill Campus comprised Theatre, Function rooms and rehearsal space.

The $8.2m year 9 Centre – At the Caulfield Campus a new 3 level Year 9 Centre was constructed. The centre included general classrooms, teaching kitchen, toilets, basement car park and staff areas.

The $5.9m year 7 Centre at the Caulfield campus was completed in 2010 and comprised 2 levels of class rooms, teacher facilities and student amenities. The building also included a 500,000 litre rain water tank for reuse in garden irrigation and toilet flushing. The future Aquatic centre will also serve the storage tank.

University Square

$250m multi building development for the University of Melbourne. The C.R. Knight commission comprised Sewer Drainage, Sanitary Plumbing, Dometic Hot and Cold Water, Fire Hydrants and Hose Reels.
Building A
An environmentally sustainable commercial building that includes a curved glazed façade and floor to ceiling windows.

Building B
The Terrace houses at the Southern end of Barry Street have been retained with their heritage façades restored while the upper levels are open plan with an abundance of light to accommodate tenancy fit out.  The building is finished with glazed screens of varying heights overlooking the square.

Building C
This building houses lecture theatres, an extensive law library and academic accommodation.  The Ground floor incorporates an entrance foyer utilising impressive materials, providing class and corporate identity.  The Curtain Glazing to the main façade enhances views and aesthetics.

Economics & Commerce Building

A $98m project, this is the latest landmark structure to be added to University Square.  This building has achieved a 5-star rating under the Green Building Council of Australia’s Green Star rating system; the first educational building of it’s scale to do so.  The premises houses academic and teaching facilities including a 450-seat lecture theatre, seminar rooms, computer laboratories with the upper levels of this 14 level building occupied by an administrative hub. The green aspects of the building comprise of Black Water re-use and rain water harvesting as part of the hydraulic services package.

Monash University Academic Building

$95m 11 levels of educational facilities including lecture theatres, office and retail space and as a separate building a multi level car park. The initial project was for a base building C.R. Knight were also engaged for the later fit out of the educational spaces.

Ian Potter Museums of Art

$5m At the university of Melbourne included the refurbishment of a existing structure and the addition and extension of the building Completed 1999.

Bentleigh Secondary College

The completion of Stage 1 has paved the way for progress on Stage 2 and 3 of this project, with demolition of the frail 1950’s buildings for Stage 2 advancing. 

Stage 1 included demolition and replacement of the administration wing, a new food technology kitchen/classroom and dining room. The former assembly hall has been refurbished and fashioned to house the performing arts centre with dance and drama classrooms, 300 seat theatre and student amenities consisting of a canteen and new toilet block. The re-development of the school continued and included underground rainwater tanks and a wetlands replenished by site storm water drainage.

Rosebud Secondary College

The redevelopment of the school site saw the construction of new science rooms, Multipurpose Hall, Technology centre, class rooms Library and Administration facilities. Many site services were required to upgrade to service the new facility.

MLC Music School

The $9m project comprised the construction of a purpose built music school with a 390 seat auditorium, rehearsal hall, sound proof tuition rooms and basement car park. Completed in 1995.
